Design I was comprised of three major components: analysis in the forms of diagrams, a drawing machine, and a final development in the form of an island development for six. At the start of the course I was assigned the shark and the sense of smell. From these ingredients, I had to analyze the shark in relation to the human in a series of diagrams, make a machine that draws in relation to the motions created while smelling, and lastly produce a work of architecture on an island related both to the sense of smell and the formal sensibilities found in the prior exercises. This short excerpt from my study represents the drawing machine and its resultant drawing.
